Young Derwin has lived most of his life in the small tribe of Leventia, a country that is not his own. He has nothing from his childhood but broken memories of his family and the violent attempt on his life from which he was only saved by the ingenuity of his mother.
His life is difficult, but not unbearable, until a
mysterious stranger arrives, goading the local bully to acts of violence and,
finally, an accusation of treason. Derwin—along with his two friends, Arradil and Lila, who stand by him—is
sentenced to permanent banishment. But all hope it not lost, for there is more than one mysterious
stranger in the woods of Leventia. He promises to take Derwin to the land of
his birth, a land where everyone remembers Derwin’s name and awaits his coming
